Sephora Social Darling

Web, Motion & Iconography

Role: Art direction, Motion, Illustration

Program: Figma, After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop

Duration: 2 months 2019

Deliverables: Webpage, Email, Motion Ad, Photography, In-store signages

OVERVIEW

The objective of the project is to drive awareness and educate clients on these up-and-coming brands that are exclusively available at Sephora. Because our target audience is Gen Z, our visual direction is to focus on social media Instagram, creating a set of fun and colorful stickers and tags for the products.

RESEARCH

We dived into social media platforms and pulled visual that are commonly used cross the board. Some of the research we thought are really representational, such as tags, stickers, emojis, filter effects.

CREATIVE

We designed a series of fun stickers. And carried over the same filter effects and instagram tag visual treatment from print assets to the digital assets.

PHOTOGRAPHY

During production, I worked closely with our photographer to assemble a brief to direct the overall visual aesthetic. Lighting and composition were key ingredients in the project prior to being processed for retouching. For each round of feedback, I worked with retouching team to maintain color accuracy for materials and brand.
